Left Wrist Fracture with Surgical Fixation - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit depicts the open reduction and internal fixation of a comminuted intra-articular wrist fracture and joint dislocation. The exhibit begins by showing the post-accident condition through both an actual x-ray film print and a color interpretation of the print. These images are followed by illustrations of four steps from the operative procedure including an incision created into the wrist and the removal of bone fragments, followed by the application of an external fixator, next the brachioradialis tendon is decompressed with tenolysis and finally a plate is applied over the fracture site and secured with multiple screws. The last image on this exhibit is an actual post-operative x-ray film print.
